A few weeks ago when I searching on google about smartphones I came across an NZ site called Geekzone. I feel this is a good example of NZ Telecommunications companies utilising social media to interact with their potential and existing customers. It helps to provide a human feel to these companies. For individuals it provides a way of keeping in touch with friends and family, meeting new people, sharing their views .

Social Media has allowed companies to interact with customers. As opposed to the traditional we speak, you listen communication of the past. The key to opening up to customers. Successfully for businesses is to ensure they stop communicating with a corporate voice. Customers will start to feel they are being listened to and given open and honest responses.

This blog is for my Social Media paper. Since undertaking this blog, I have been reading a lot more blogs written by other people, both about Social Media, and also blogs by friends about food, farming etc. Originally when I saw that a couple of my friends have started writing blogs, I thought why?
