Wildlife and wildlife issues along river Caldew, Dalston and North Cumbria. In 2004 there was a massive influx of waxwings into Dalston . There were flocks of almost two thousand birds in Dalston village. They like to perch in the tops of tall trees just like this flock in the large lime trees in the village. The waxwings soon clear all of the rowan berries especially if large flocks are involved. The following photo is a beautiful adult mal.
