When I was sixteen I volunteered to work at the Boys Training School, where they sent adolescents who had committed minor crimes and a safe place for those who show promise for recuperation and reintegration to society. There I met Anthony, a dark skinned, intelligent young man, who had not had much experience with white people and who took interest in me.
