Is defintiely on my top ten list of favorite movies of all times. When it was recommended to watch this in conjunction with the Nietzsche readings, I was excited. Even though the movie has deep psychological meanings, and causes you to think, I had never really related anything in it to any particular philosopher.

This guy had it right. It is a waste of time because it does not matter how much you think about this other world, where there is a perfect form or you are not deceived by your senses, it will not exist. We are stuck in this world and we should love the life we live. Is it ok if I use the same movie for another post? I like his style.

It is really hard to tell if one can be happy in this life or not. According to Aquinas and Aristotle, one cannot be happy in this life. For Aquinas, happiness is the contemplation of God. I believe both are right. We can be happy in this life, but the highest good is the contemplation of God.
