Saturday, July 26, 2014. Once upon a time, there was this mother, who had a little boy, that taught her everything she needed to know about patience.
There are several beautiful, pregnant women in my life right now. I was thinking about having a newborn recently, and I thought about what I would say to myself in those last few weeks of pregnancy, when I was scared and excited and in awe. When your baby is new, you will question yourself all the time. Is she eating enough? Am I talking to her enough? Should I be reading out loud instead of washing these dishes? Should I be holding her instead of letting her lie there quietly? .

These are truly Difficult times in which we find ourselves. Perhaps we need more than simply good intentions. Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Looking Up to Look Down. We all need someone to look up to and in our need we also have the need to somehow know that our idols are no better than ourselves. It is the continuous battle between our need for heroes and heroines and our own fears that we are failures and flops that keep us human. We want to both look up to someone and look down on others.
