Musings on life, travel, education, and style. I spent 8 days in Zurich, Switzerland over my winter break. The sights, the sounds, the smells, and the fresh mountain air made helped make this an unforgettable experience. Getting out of the UAE over my break was a good decision. I noticed that the web site stated " Lately, Ive been sharing with other English Medium Teachers about my irrational fears along this path that has taken me overseas." They also stated " Weve had some good laughs and enjoyed how silly women are as we over think every situation. This list includes some of mine, but also a few additions from others on the same journey. My visa will be denied. Ill never get my plane ticket. Jasmine Combs is a Black woman poet, spoken word artist, and educator from Philadelphia, PA. She recently received her BA in English from Temple University and is a Babel Poetry Collective. Currently, Jasmine is an organizer for The Philly Pigeon Poetry Slam. And the Spoken Word Editor of The Fem Lit Magazine. Her performances have been featured on SlamFind, Button Poetry, Blavity, and The Huffington Post. In 2014 she published her first chapbook.
Books I Read in 2016. Is a freelance writer, editor, and MFA dropout. Her creative work has been published and is forthcoming in The Normal School. And in a few other places. She received her BA in English at Elon University in North Carolina, where she was the nonfiction editor of Colonnades Literary and Art Journal. Now, she is the editor of Vagabond City. And a Co-Founder of The Fem.
