The site had the following in the homepage, "THE AMERICAN SOUTHWEST Landscape Photography by Mark Capurso." I noticed that the web site stated " Whos Behind the Camera? Autumn in the Canyons." They also stated " Id spent the night before camping up on the cliffs in the distance. When morning arrived, I noted a dry river bed lined with golden Cottonwood trees many miles below. I drove down and hiked along the sandy bluff above the river until I found this spot. Mark Carder is a highly regarded artist who started painting in 1986. He has painted commissioned portraits of two US Presidents and a US Secretary of State, among others. Mr Carder started painting seriously at the age of 22. He taught himself to paint and then went on to copy works by John Singer Sargent, Rembrandt, George Inness, and Henry Raeburn to complete his training. He considers John Singer Sargent and Diego Velázquez to be his greatest influences.
