Thoughts and stories from my journey into the Kingdom. Working hard at finishing out our time in Togo strongly, starting to try to piece together our future lives in the US and trying to stick faithfully to renewed spiritual and physical exercise regimens has left me with little time to write.
Saturday, December 31, 2016. It All Begins With Light. Tonight I light the 8th night of Hanukkah candles. I was planning on staying in the New Testament this year, focusing on the stories of Jesus and the 2,000 years of Christian tradition, good and bad, that his followers have developed. But the Menorah, its nine slots for candles, and the box of 45 candles beckoned me.
An ordinary family living out an extraordinary life as God unfolds it before them. The bend in the road. Not every detail of the journey is revealed to us before we take the step. Sometimes you just have to put one foot in front of the other and see where it leads you. Or rather, where He leads you. One thing is certain though, each stride prepares you for the next one. The start of that journey was 13 years ago.
