The Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve is located just outside of Arco, Idaho . Would you believe that less than 100 years ago there was still lava running through this area? The photograph on the top of the page is of Devils Creek. I was multi tasking one evening working on a panorama assignment for class and fishing. It had been stormy most of the day and this image presented itself that evening. Fishing was not so good but I got my homework done.

This assignment was a little challenging for me because I have never shot in a studio before. Once I got going though I started to have some fun and enjoy it. I used two strip boxes for lighting. I also put a purple filter over the lens of my camera to give that purple glow. My subject is my roommate Micheala. She is from Kansas and is on the softball team here at ISU so I wanted the background to portra.
