I have been thinking a lot lately about Saul. He had his life purpose determined and he was moving steadfast to move towards completion. He had no idea what was coming as he was heading into Damascus. He probably thought he had his life help together and God would be pleased as he moved forth to preserve the law he was raised under.

Sunday, October 07, 2012. I remember his quick wit and trying to keep up with him and my uncles. I will remember his love of the rodeo, his western shirts and bolo ties. He would tape rodeos and re-watch them again. And for the first time now as I type this I wonder if he ever dreamed of getting out of North Jersey and becoming a real cowboy. Although his health was poor in the final years of his life it is never easy.

We walk around this little track by the elementary school and we talk about whatever comes up. This particular visit we talked a lot about life.

Did you really think you were original when you said that? Thursday, May 16, 2013. Last week, my friend, Katie, and I went to a conference about leadership. Ok about how I am thinking. So, naturally, I have been thinking about how I feel about the conference, about the post-conference funk.

In which we discover life as it was meant to be lived. 2016 was a good year. It was a year that stretched me. I did a lot, and learned a lot. I wish I had time to tell all the stories of the people and experiences that made this year everything that it was. But, for now, I will make lists. Rang in the new semester with friends at school. Bought a pair of dress pants.
