They only mean something to my robot. I wanted to find a target for my robot that was easily readable by the robot and by me, or anyone else who looks at it. I settled on a solution using a coloured border with a simple symbol inside that I would detect using OpenCV, as shown below. The artwork is a picture I cut out from a magazine and mod podged to a piece of wood. The books are cut popsicle sticks with book adverts cut to fit.
