Ian was a hard working, happy, generous, warm, respectful, loving young man. He lived hard and fast, always a worry to his parents and our grandmother, but his smile and charm would light up a room. I knew how much we loved him, but I did not know the incredible impact he had on the lives around him until Tuesday. However, I am reminded of a Truth as we navigate through his loss. But I feel it beginning to awaken .

Do it yourself projects, watercolor. I think three months is a long time in between blog posts. Indeed we have been working all of this time. This post is meant to catch things up a bit. The kitchen is coming along nicely. It is completely usable and just needs a few finishing touches, like light rail, crown molding, and a FLOOR! Thankfully, the floor is going in tomorrow. The dining room is waiting for the floor and trim.

The site had the following in the homepage, "Perhaps not my most spectacular post." I noticed that the web site stated " I cant tell you how thrilled I was that my next project on the list was putting in new baseboards after the floors were installed." They also stated " Im using 1X flat stock of poplar, 10 feet long. This is a simple squared off design, so no coping the corners, no this should be a simple install 1-2-3 done! Last summer we struggled with limited water. We used the outhouse and took laundry to town every weekend to wash. At home we were grateful to be able to wash our hands and take an occasional shower. My new nemesis became the 20 foot tall, very healthy, happy, mocking willow tree thriving between the creek and our well house. This is what we have done so far.

Saturday, November 6, 2010. Get Thee To a Nunnery. If you are new to Quito, you may not realize that there is a whole spiritual world awaiting you via gluttony and debauchery handmade by, and purchased from, cloistered nuns. The best things, in my opinion, are from Monasterio de Carmen Alto conveniently located a few blocks from my house on Calle Rocafuerte and Garcia Moreno. Around town you can find these religious bottle covers that are made to perfectly enclose the liquors and wines made by the nuns.
