This painting was created in 1907. In this year, Rivera traveled from Mexico to Spain and I am unsure in which country this work was painted. I love this because I think that he looks very clever and sexy. I imagine that he thought very highly of himself. What makes this painting even better is that years later in 1941, he painted another self portrait and captures his own aging process which to me seems a brave move.
