Spring Trip to the Olympic Coast. Spring Break arrived and we headed west. For us that means a ferry ride and drive along Highway 101, through Olympic National Park, one of the greenest places on earth. We stopped to see Sol Duc Falls along the way. The next morning was rainy, but the skies cleared in the afternoon for a hike along Rialto Beach.
Call it the convergence of the weird. Surely a good day here would get another PR. But this would be no ordinary day. I mentioned the term omen earlier.

We climbed 16 pitches total with some pitches being long simul-climbing blocks. I think it worked out to some 1200 m of climbing at something along the lines of M5 5.
