Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Sometimes You Forget - Commodore 2000. While looking around in the vault for Consul machines to show in the previous post I happened into the ABC - Cole Steel area and spotted two similar cases. One of them I knew right off, but the other one, which was identical except for being a different color, was not familiar.
Hermes 2000 and Japy 50. I was lucky at a German bay auction and got a Japy 50 portable. It came in its original case, quite used, a few things to clean an polish. Mechanically, it is sound, and alignment is still perfect, despite obvious heavy use in the past. Why was I surprised? Still, why was I surprised? Now, this new Japy specimen is number 20525.

The site had the following in the homepage, "The pleasures of a bunch of old typewriters." I noticed that the web site stated " The Girl from Dresden Erika M." They also stated " Some weeks ago I swung by my favorite junk shop to check the status of my foster typewriter, the Royal KHM. Another machine that arrived recently at Moes is a 1940 Erika M with serial number 867592M. Its a beautiful thing despite a missing key top and types beautifully. I didnt bring it home as it is way too clean and functional for my tastes. It has a QWERTY key board, but German characters and a key."ANALYZE MORE BUSINESSES

Tuesday, July 24, 2007. Het laatste semester is hier ook weer omgevlogen. Er resten me nog 10 dagen in Japan. Het is niet dat ik niet terug wil naar België, want daar heb ik ook een leven dat me wonderwel bevalt, maar het zal toch even slikken zijn om de vrienden die ik hier heb gemaakt, achter te laten of te zien vertrekken. Wie weet kruisen onze paden nog wel eens. 14 tot 16 juli 2007.
