Costa Rica, Here I Am! A satire blog of an American expat. I survived Hurricane Otto in Costa Rica. I want to let you know that I made it through Hurricane Otto here in Costa Rica. Having grown up in Alabama, I was expecting a Gulf Coast type storm. I never felt a thing with Otto. I was able to even shop at Walmart during the warning period. That is all for now. Batten down the nachos! I noticed that people are mostly just going about their regular business today, not panicked like.
