Former President A P J Abdul Kalam passed away of a cardiac arrest today while giving a speech in Shillong. For me and several people from my generation, Kalam was the first political-figure we became aware of. He was the 11th President of India and we were in high-school during his term. He wrote several books which have inspired several of all age groups. RIP Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam.
