Day two of expressing thanks for blessings in my life. I am thankful for my husband, and his wonderful works around our home. I am thankful for my family; without them I could be very lonely. I am thankful for wonderful, caring friends who continually encourage and delight me. Additionally, I am LOVING this weather.

Reflections on trying to live life well. Germans tend to smile only when necessary. They also seem to make complaining a sport. Free smiles for everyone and keep a positive attitude. I recently read an article by a German about the US and he complained about the fact that Americans smile too much. My point exactly! Taxes are included in the price tag and while tipping is a polite gesture it usually entails a few cents for a drink and a couple Euro .

Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Ashley also had some really fun pioneer games for us. For dessert we had homemade fresh cherry pie with homemade vanilla ice cream.
