Searching for a healthy land ethic and learning from nature. The Plains of San Agustin. My scientific goals are to further the understanding of ecological processes related to terrestrial ecosystems at local to global scales under global change. My research focus includes forest ecology, remote sensing, carbon cycling, and forest disturbance. Nd other geospatial data for assessing global change.
I am a paleo-ecologist, interested mostly by the fire ecology and its biogeochemical consequences on ecosystems. I am currently a post-doctoral fellow at Kansas State University and I am focused on studying. Biogeochemical consequences of ecosystem change at decadal to millennial timescales. Disturbances, and fire in particular, are key factors acting on the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems.
