Recent reading, conversations, and experiences have revived my spirits. Right now it is easy to be caught up in the fury and pressure to find my first real job. I lost sight of why I decided to pursue nursing and the aspects I love most about the profession. Now I just started reading Dead Aid.

Nursing Approach to the Client with Acute Respiratory Failure. 1 Obtain history from the client as to the onset and progression of symptoms. 2 Assess respirations for dyspnea and pain that increases with inspiration. 3 Assess for headache, confusion, restlessness, and increased heart rate. 4 Assess sputum for quantity and characteristics. 1 Anxiety related to oxygen deprivation. 3 Risk of infection related to microbial invasion.
