The Oran government is a subject of controversy within The Plague. The citizens blame the government for not responding quickly enough to the plague, but how much blame can be put on the government, what could have the government actually done? Not the people, not the doctors, and not the government. More action could have been taken by the government to spread a warning about an epidemic, or a possible epidemic, but what else could they have done.
