I have just returned from a trip to Scotland to see the family. The weather was not the best but this did not stop me from having a look around at the waters available for fishing during the coming season when I am up again visiting family. Novice angler Ralph Cook wanted a casting lesson to improve his distance and presentation, and I was delighted with how quickly he made progress. In less than two hours he was regularly casting beautiful tight loops like this. Incidentally, the water in the lakes is warming up now and I think the spring fishing will be warming up in the next few weeks too. Friday, 5 March 2010.

Friday, 6 March 2015. With hands numb and freezing cold i returned back to the fishing lodge having winkled 8 fighting fit trout out. A nice plump bigland trout.
