For my paper, I chose to work with Robot Dreams by Isaac Asimov and The Uncanny by Sigmund Freud. I feel like Freud lays out theories behind what causes humans to experience the very complicated emotion of uncanniness. Moreover I believe that it is this emotion, intensified through repression, that caused Dr. Calvin to act in Robot Dreams. Some of the theories I worked with are the following.
