Next I found a gym. Shame to waste the sunshine I thought, but they had a separate room for women with a working treadmill AND aerobics classes! When our organization decided to fund these vocational trainings alongside basic education learners were ecstatic. The trainings chosen were for skills that could be realistically used in the community and thus can provide the children with the capacity to empower themselves in the future. Development jargon aside, the learners loved and were grateful and dedicated to the training.
