I thought this book was interesting. at some points i got confused and couldnt follow it, but over all it was a good book. i would have to say i liked it! It was very easy to read and for the most part to understand as well. i liked how it showed her culture and hwo she grew upp.

I did not really like the book because the style of vignette is irritating, I would rather read a story than snapshots, because it is hard to fill in the blanks of what is happening. Also the subject of story was boring to me, I do not really enjoy reading social problem stories that focus on only one group or culture of people. I wish we could have chosen from a greater selection of the books to read.

I truly like this book until it came to the end then I got pretty frustrated. But my favorite part was when he meet the king of Salem, I thought it was pretty good. Because I didnt have nice clothes. No clothes, but I had brains.

I liked this book because it was pretty interesting and very in depth about her life. she really expains details well and tries to explain everyhing in that fashion. i think this book is a good book for people our age in highschool because it teaches valuble lessons to be learned.
