Saving our Industrial Heritage, for your Future. Water Walks, exploring the story of water in Lichfield. On Saturday 19th September, for the Lichfield Heritage Weekend, the Lichfield Waterworks Trust are putting on three Water Walks, exploring the story of water in Lichfield.

The use of basketwork fish traps is a traditional method of fishing practised on the river Severn and its estuary for many years, especially the types known as putts and putchers which are peculiar and exclusive to the Severn estuary. This custom has endured to the present day, and putchers, although now mostly made of metal.
