IMHO, science journalists sometimes do a decent job, but 90 of the time they dont. Some types of quantum computing articles that irk me. The article praises a scientific paper that is completely wrong. The article follows a standard formula. One de rigueur paragraph explains the difference between a bit and a qubit.
