Wifredo Lam is a Cuban artist that used his art to portray and revive the enduring Afro-Cuban spirit and culture. He met with and was inspired by some of the most renowned artists of the 20. Century such as Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso. Lam worked mainly as a painter but also worked with sculpture, ceramics and printmaking. The Jungle by Wifredo Lam. I had lots of fun this semester and learned an amazing amount about the history of the arts. I have found that I honestly appreciate the development of art and have the means to look at it more analytically.
