Friday, January 16, 2009. Because the Chinese academic semester is pegged to the Chinese New Year, my commitment to the Fulbright Program extended until mid-January. My classes finished a couple of weeks earlier than others, so I was able to spend some time in. Everyone, it seems, is on the move. My ticket was for the second class, hard seat coach.

Celia and Dean were SO excited to ride the trains. The excitment of the train NEVER got old. I kept telling Celia about THE pretzel the size of your head that we used to get when we lived in Germany. She was quite happy when we finally were able to have one. Our old stomping grounds-Romer Platz near our old apartment in Frankfurt.
