While a portion of why I run for youth mental health could be seen as a bit selfish, I know at the same time I am helping other families get through some very hard times. And that makes every drop of sweat, ache or pain completely worth it. My view just before the start of the race.

Back in June 2012 I ran my very first half marathon in Niagara Falls. I made a family vacation out of it with the plan to stay Saturday through Monday. The race was the Sunday and I wanted to relax the day away with the kids after my accomplishment. We had to leave earlier then planned that Monday as I had some serious swelling in my right ankle.
