On April 2, 2015. I was seeing SIGBUS crash on kernel code after updating to newer NDK to support armv8. The crash was on accessing a pointer in a structure. Dropping optimization made the crash go away . Looking at the generated assembly it was using LDMIA. A more in depth write up on this type of problem.
