A story about a wild transgression. My dream started in 1983 in Australia, it came from a magazine called Simple Living. A very glossy magazine with more adverts about face creams than about growing pumpkins. A trip, a long trip followed up the New South Wales coast to Byron Bay. A bit inland lays a magical place called Nimbin. The north of Lismore, a place filled with alternative communities. Came my way, on the coast of Old South Wales, 16.

For 8 weeks now we have been on the Artists on the Canals Tour and we will be for an other 4 weeks. It feels a lot longer as we have been organising this tour for months. Start as you mean to go on, I say. I found this dead juvenile Blue Tit in the garden. Barely fledged and either just out of the nest or nearly so, it was lying on the lawn where it had been dropped. Maybe a magpie got it and was scared off before it could eat it or something. It looked so perfect and poignant that I wanted to photograph it. Photographs that I got recently probably, and just because it felt right.
