I think every freshman should read Romeo and Juliet.
Posted on May 9, 2011. Out of all those books . I just want to say in my opinion 1984 needs to get thrown out of the list. Fahrenheit 451 was pretty good though.
The one book I think every freshman should read is definitely Animal Farm. It is an allegory, and I learned how to find symbols by reading the book. Before reading Animal Farm, I never knew what an allegory was, and could not imagine how everything in a book could be a symbol. I think that George Orwell has a unique style of writing, because it all ties into politics. Symbolizes the Russian Revolution and 1984. Was not one of my f.

I also think that the book had many symbols and could sometimes connect with the people reading it. These are the reasons why I think that Whirligig was a good read.
