Wednesday, 2 November 2011. After an early morning visit to New Spitalfields Market yesterday, my commitment to our sometimes precarious objective of using surplus fruit and vegetables in all our products, was certainly revived. There were tonnes of apples beyond help. A mass of bananas were in much better condition, just browning on the outside so unsellable. I only had room for a couple of the 50 odd boxes sitting there ready to be binned.
The tastiest chutneys, made in the nicest possible way. Go on, have a dollop. We believe the more you put in, the more you get out. Go on, have a dollop.
