I am a mom, ultrarunner, and running coach living in Texas. I ran my first 50 miler in May of 2006 and my first 100 miler in November of 2006. I have competed on the US National 24 Hour Team in 2008 and 2009. I love the spirit of the ultrarunning community and feel lucky to be a part of it. Monday, August 10, 2015. If the shoe fits . wear it! Call it the science of common sense. After all these years of discussing foot type - high arch, low arch, pronation, supination, etc. - and its relation to the proper running shoes for your feet and for your body, it turns out the right running shoes are the ones that are most comfortable. We all ran every meet, and we traveled to most of them in vans.
Thursday, January 1, 2009. Time to get motivated for 2009. I had a slack end to a good start from last year. I lost 25 pounds by this past summer and gained some 15 to 20 pounds of it right back by the end of the year. Still not fully motivated like I was last year. I have however, started doing some pretty serious aerobics exercises on my mini-trampoline. Just try to keep up with old Blanche Black.
