Four brilliant fall days in late September 2010. This begins my river memoir. River is a metaphor that frames my life. Raised on a 200 acre farm bordered by the Yellow River, I live today with my husband John on the west bank of the Grand River in Comstock Park, just north of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Going into surgery process I weighed 288lbs. Today I am at 242lbs. There is still a major war going on within me. A battle of my mind with food. Literally split between happy and anger. Most of you will not be able to identify with this post.
