Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Fall is in the air in the high country. Pikes Peak has been on my radar and today Tony and I arrived at the Crags Campground trailhead to a cool 30 degrees. About 500ft into the trail I realized left my trekking poles in the car. Instead of going back, I opted to continue without them, making this my first 14er without them. Frost covered ground and 10,400ft.
