As a school administrator, it is common to be in the school for a couple of weeks ahead of the official startup. Calm, Alert, and Learning.

Each day we grow and learn something new. Reflections of a vice-principal and educator on continual learning. This past Friday was one of those very FUN days at school! This event created a great sense of community for both students and staff in our school. It was great to see the enthusiasm and efforts of all our staff members on Friday morning. There was great laughter and camaraderie as staff.

What does it take to engage students in their learning? 8220;Student engagement is the product of motivation and active learning. It is a product rather than a sum because it will not occur if either element is missing. In simple terms, flow is achieved when a task is not too easy, not too hard, has clear goals, and a sense of accomplishment is achieved at the end.
