Picking Up the Pieces of Hope. Loss of a child has the ability to decimate the parents as well as the surrounding family. My true story is about hope found in the aftermath of this experience and assumed hopelessness. My son Joey was a local high school football player and he wore the number 34 upon his jersey. Within his short life, he had become a star on and off of the field as well as a star within our family. I believe my son Joey, guided me to write this true story and HE is my true hero.
