Escamillo peppers are slightly bigger than Carmen. Both are excellent for fresh eating but I like the flavor of Carmen a bit better. That said, I just ate an entire Escamillo as a snack. Summer Dance has provided a steady supply of cucumbers since mid-August. Most fruits are much straighter than this pair. I continue to dig sweet potatoes.

There is nothing worse than opening a jar of homemade pickles, biting into one, and finding that they are all soggy and nasty. Blech! Might be slight hyperbole, but you know what I mean.

Gardening To Fill The Pantry! August 11, 2015. Went out to the tomato plants the other day and the plants are booming. The tomatoes are clustered like grapes. All of the tomato plants have between 16 and 24 tomatoes on them. Among the plants however I found something rather surprising. The cherry tomato plants had tomatoes that, although smaller, looked exactly like my Beef Steaks. See the 4th of July Tomato just below the cherry ones? .
