In October 2016 we spent 3 weeks wandering around North Island, NZ by car and staying in motels. That turned out to be a good idea as we both sufferred a nasty virus which meant keeping to a schedule would have been tricky. Nevertheless, our wandering plan-changing habits meant that we still found lots of great things to see and do.
