Sunday, 9 August 2015. A Short-eared Owl at Farlington Marshes in August! The water level on the lake was high and as such the high tide roost was not as I had hoped. There were 150 or so Common Redshank. The stream was not that much better with another 50 Black-tailed Godwits,. A dozen or so Lapwing. Black-tailed Godwit on the Stream Farlington Marshes.
Buzzard oiling the wheels of commerce with its lust fuelled advertising. Blue tit bringing everything around to himself. The smuggest stock dove I have ever encountered. Robin in autumn smudge plummage. Kestrel milking the air butter. Greenfinch tailor weaving tiny trousers for a ghost. Coal tit; does not burn as well as its name suggests. One and a bit mediterranean gulls.

They also stated " BBQ getting into full swing. The people that make it all happen. Today at Farlington was far less hospitable through the heavy rain showers and thunder and lightning. However the hardy Thursday Beechcroft team, revved up from the previous evenings lamb baps and flapjack pieces were ready to do battle with more Thistles on the main marsh not even the weather could put them off!
