Well, the best answer is that it is a complex task and requires work across individual, community, organisational and societal levels. This is why there is an increasing interest in community, cultural, and yes, you guessed it, arts participation on mental health and wellbeing. That it provides opportunities for self-reflection and a means.

Finding Joy in Public Transportation. A Lesson in Letting Go. We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the life that is waiting for us. This morning I boarded the bus and quickly found a seat. I was eager to begin reading an article a friend had shared with me related non-profit work. Like many, my time is limited, and I was hoping to make use of my morning commute to read this material.

Monday, June 3, 2013. This week in one of my sessions I decided to make art. It makes it hard to be present for others when I am immersed in my own art making. This day felt different though. The group was very small for varying reasons and there was only one girl who came. I decided to make art along side her. This week doing art with a client felt right. We worked beside one another and then shared our images and in turn shared a bit about ourselves; it worked out well.
