In the historical town of Sri Chamkaur Sahib, Shanti Swaroop Memorial Educational Society has been making a difference in the lives of thousands of poor rural women and children. The Society was founded in 1976 by Late Smt. and Sri Kewal Krishan Dhand in the memory of their beloved son Sri Shanti Sarup a Social Worker who laid his life while saving the victims of unfortunate bus which fell down in river Beas at Pandoh, Himachal Pardesh.
