What I can say is DO clean your rocks, filter, and the gunk inside the tank it will keep your fish happy , and keep your levels high. Monday, May 20, 2013. Advice to the 2013-2014 Aquatic Science Students. Throughout the year we had a pretty steady tank when it came to water quality. The only times our numbers were out of whack was after Christmas because of the holiday feeder and then for a short period of time we had a little algae problem. Monday, May 20, 2013. Advice to the 2013 - 2014 AqSci Students. You have officially become a part of the aquatic science class community! For the next several months, you will be lifting heavy buckets of water, trying to keep your water quality in check, and struggling to find time to feed your fish. Put a charcoal medium in your filter, for the water clarity that everyone wants. Clean the algae from your decorations every time you clean. I think those are the major points.
