Slowly, but I think surely, I am finding my way back to the Hmong culture. I have always been here, always in the background somewhere between the world of the Hmong and the American. But yet somehow still lost in between both worlds. I want to enjoy the Hmong New Year celebrations. I want to speak more Hmong to my kids.
I experienced it recently and I was so bored. A good friend gave me some advice, he told me to put a piece of paper in front of me and write down my goals. What is my current goal? What do I want the most? After I list out my goals, I try to do something about it.

This time I had a lot to look at with the fall colors, low and high clouds. I saw a man in this sky, making his way, moving slowly like a snake. To the wide open spaces higher up. I stayed here awhile to take all the white snow in, not a single sound. Then the beauty lit up the entire sky for me,.
