Freestate Trail Runs Marathon April 25, 2009. This is my third year at Freestate. Irst year as a volunteer and then last year as my first marathon. I had planned to participate in the 40 mi event this year but overslept. As I was driving like a maniac to make the starting time, I realized that I could drop down to the Marathon. I was smart for doing that. Traveling to the west coast for work the entire week had me more worn out than I anticipated.
