The 300 Houses of Paul Polis. My Master Thesis investigation has led me to find exactly 315 houses made by one. Unknown architect, between 1936 and 1975, in a small area in the outskirts of Liège. Found his kids and got a lot of archives. The topic of my master thesis is the Belgian modernist architect Paul Polis. No source is available about him, even though he design a huge amount of houses in the city between 1930 and 1970.
Decided to make chairs for the new school library we are designing and building this semester. Steel cut 45 degrees at every end for a mitre joint. Arc welded together with butt welds to form 2 rectangles. Welded 2 metal pieces to hold the rectangles together and to support the sitting fabric. The fabric is laced together in the back with a nylon cord. This makes it easy to regulate the sitting height.
