This blog is going to be a mix of different things. A big part of it will be about my weight loss and exercise experiences. Some of it will be about different places I visit, from local festivals to vacations. I expect to post a lot of photographs, especially food pictures. This blog is meant to be fun and not too serious.

We knew that praying mantis females often cannibalize their mates after sex, and we suspected that there was some benefit to the male that would outweigh the cost, but why not just take the female out for an expensive dinner? Males that are cannibalized after mating make a larger somatic investment in the offspring with a resulting increase in egg production.
