The Adventures of a Compulsive Seamstress. This year is going to be a different one for sewing. Marking the seamlines on the reverse of the sequined shoulder yokes.

A couple of weekends ago I decided this quilt had been dragging on and I was in danger of loosing interest. That thought spurred me on to get more blocks done and I am feeling pleased with my progress. I now have only one more large basket block to make and then six mini baskets before I can start piecing it together . it suddenly feels achievable! The first photo shows the latest blocks I made and then all the blocks together. After today another month is finished! Designed by.

Saturday, 7 May 2016. I have been really enjoying Me Made May, loving the instagrams! As I have not done allot of sewing I feel I have little to contribute, although it has highlighted to me that us sewers wear our clothes for years! Pretty dresses and made to fit clothing seems to hold the test of time, and that is why most of my items will be a few years old. Gardening and lots of it! It has been a li.

Thursday, March 22, 2018. Having two boys that love science I felt like this would be well received. I read the first half of the book to them aloud and then let them continue one once the mystery was beginning to unravel. Along the way there will be unexpected friendship, moments of courage, strange and wonderful adventures and camaraderie.

A Failed Challenge, Four Successful Garments. Back in March, I think, I decided that I wanted to take part in the Dress Like Your Grandma Challenge. Organised by Tanya of Mrs Hughes, not so much for sewing something vintage, but more as a tribute to my grandma. I wanted, however, to stay true to the shape of the dress bodice and for that reason I used Simplicity 1587. It always surprises me how different garments can look, when using different fabrics.
